  4. REQUIREMENTS: FlexText requires Windows 3.1.
  5.  
  6. INSTALLATION: Run INSTALL.EXE or follow the instructions below.
  7.  
  8.         1.  Create a directory called FLXTW and copy FLXTW.EXE,
  9.             FLXTW.HLP, INSTALL.CMD and READ.ME to it.
  10.  
  11.         2.  Create a program item in Program Manager by selecting the
  12.             "FILE" menu item, then "NEW" menu selection. Fill in the
  13.             following information:
  14.  
  15.                 DESCRIPTION: FlexText for Windows
  16.                 COMMAND LINE: c:\flxtw\flxtw.exe
  17.                 WORKING DIRECTORY: c:\flxtw
  18.  
  19.         3.  Start the application by double clicking on the new program
  20.             icon.
  21.  
  22.  
  23. TROUBLESHOOTING:
  24.  
  25. Each page has one or more truncated edges.
  26.  
  27. - Printer/driver incompatibilities cause truncated edges.  The driver
  28. tells FlexText to print in an area of the page that is inaccessible to the
  29. printer.  The solution is to adjust the margins available from the "PRINT"
  30. dialog.

  33. Program help is not available.
  34.  
  35. - Make sure that the file FLXTW.HLP is either in the default directory
  36. (program properties).
  37.  
  38.  
  39. Columns fail to line up on printed reports.
  40.  
  41. - A mono-spaced font must be used if column alignment is necessary.
  42. Courier is a good choice.
  43.  
  44.  
  45. Blank pages are printed or few lines appear on every other page.
  46.  
  47. - FlexText is encountering ASCII form feed characters after it has already
  48. started printing the next page.  Pick a smaller point size so that the
  49. document controls page breaks before FlexText hits the bottom of the
  50. page - or - disable the ASCII form feeds within the "CONTROL CHARACTERS" 
  51. dialog box.
